Learning the Standards of Type Canaries!

The most important thing in our fancy is to know, exactly, what should we breed, based on the standards and avoiding mistakes....This is not very easy unless you are surrounded by good breeders, masters of our fancy. I believe that there is a great tool for all the enthousiasts, the "bible" for the breeding. Blueprints for each type canary, with the scale of points, describing the perfection and and the mistakes...

Available now from NBD (National Bird Designs, Inc.), is the best and most requested tool for use by ALL Type Canary enthusiasts who love the Yorkshire and Norwich Canary! It actually is white on a black background.
In the first edition sold worldwide over 41 years ago in 1976, there were 12 Type Canary breeds illustrated and totally detailed in the Blueprint Standards of Canary Perfection and The Master Portfolio of Type Canary Standards! Now there are going to be 32 different Type Canary breeds!

Each Blueprint which is suitable for framing in 18” x 24” depicts one breed of Type Canary. It illustrates what should be the prefect illustrated standard of perfection of the breed it is dedicated to. It will also contain the scale of points as issued by the specialist clubs and contain historical notes. There will be illustrations and descriptions of most all the obvious faults associated with the breed which are fully illustrated and detailed!

Each may be framed and hung in a bird room, used by specialist clubs in educating the membership on what to avoid and what to breed for in order to win at events under qualified judges and placed on an easel by judges.

An important item to own and study before purchasing foundation stock or introducing stock as out-crosses and for judges to use whilst judging in front of spectators or behind the scenes to help them ‘tune up’ and sharpen their skills!

Each Master Portfolio of Type Canary Perfection contains all 32 Type Canary Breeds in a loose-leaf book for breeders, judges and newcomers to carry in an 8 ½“ x 11” format. Easy to peruse and study at will! A tool used by many judges still today around the world, long before the age of the Internet and the World Wide Web!

Attached is an example of the Yorkshire Canary Standard that is from the Golding Standard and what the Yorkshire breeder is consistently striving! My hope is to provide the fancy with this useful guide and help the fancier achieve their quest with the breed they enjoy most!
